{"id":13928,"date":"2018-10-24T17:33:55","date_gmt":"2018-10-24T21:33:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.9deuce.tv\/blogs\/?p=13928"},"modified":"2018-10-24T17:33:55","modified_gmt":"2018-10-24T21:33:55","slug":"american-horror-story-apocalypse-ep-6-return-to-murder-house","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/9deuce.tv\/tv\/american-horror-story-apocalypse-ep-6-return-to-murder-house\/","title":{"rendered":"American Horror Story Apocalypse Ep 6 &#8220;Return To Murder House&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This week, we finally got the episode that I think all AHS fans have been yearning for since the announcement of this being a crossover season.\u00a0 Yes, seeing the witches for the first time was a great moment, but this was everything we wanted.\u00a0 We got updates and explanations from Constance, Ben, Vivien, Tate, and Violet.\u00a0 Moira finally got some closure in one of the best scenes in AHS history.\u00a0 We got to see how Mead entered into Michael&#8217;s life, and we got to see Michael flex his muscles by basically erasing dead people.\u00a0 There is so much to say about this episode, and while this blog can&#8217;t do it justice, we tried like hell.\u00a0 If you&#8217;re new to the blog, my name is Kent and I ask the questions and get some unique answers.\u00a0 Any comments in bold are from me unless otherwise stated.\u00a0 Please enjoy!<\/p>\n<p>______________________________________________<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0Give me your thoughts on Constance\u2019s story.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Raylene: It seems she is finally at peace in her home with most of her children. I do wonder if they found Addy\u2019s bones and buried them at Murder House\u00a0if she could join them. \u00a0<\/span><b>(Would that be a good or a bad thing?)<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cece: \u00a0I loved her story. It was so sad, really. But I truly feel like she\u2019s finally happy and found her \u2018purpose\u2019. <\/span><b>(Yeah, compared to all the other restless souls there, I think this was a great outcome for her, all things considered.)<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Eric: \u00a0It was sad. <\/span><b>(I\u2019m challenging myself to respond to each of your responses with a video.)<\/b><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Sad Panda\" width=\"580\" height=\"326\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/vymvr9jv9ho?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Melanie: \u00a0She found some peace finally with her children in the afterlife. She was a terrible mother though. So, the children are not at peace. <\/span><b>(Yeah, it\u2019s like, hey that\u2019s great for Constance, but will somebody PLEASE think of the children? \u00a0That is a Simpsons reference.)<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tom: \u00a0Well it did seem like a happy ending for her, in typical dark AHS fashion. We&#8217;ve learned that Michael can burn ghosts from existence so I fear for her future. \u00a0<\/span><b>(Yeah, ain\u2019t that some shit? \u00a0I mean on the scale of badass powers, that ranks incredibly high. \u00a0To the point where I am curious how these witches are going to defeat him. \u00a0It\u2019s like defeating Superman.)<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kayleigh: \u00a0I enjoyed the story. I would have liked to see Addy. But I am glad she\u2019s not stuck in the house. Lange always tells a good story. \u00a0<\/span><b>(I\u2019m conflicted on if she would be better off in the house or not. \u00a0Would she be tormented or protected? Yes, it\u2019s a bad place, but with familiar faces.)<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kelly: \u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I think she created a great story of empathy for her character. She just wanted to be a mother so badly and sadly, all of her children ended up being &#8220;monsters&#8221; of some sort. I think it was a wonderful story of Langdon. It&#8217;s so heartbreaking she ended up taking her own life. \u00a0<\/span><b>(Yeah, I think the best thing was the emphasis on her desire of being a good mother, but things not going as planned. \u00a0It really was an interesting way of doing it.)<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kent: \u00a0I felt that this was probably the story that Jessica could come back for and be happy with it. \u00a0It was all sorts of things, sad, touching, all of that stuff. Best of all, it was really well done and well told by Jessica. \u00a0This was must-see TV, in my opinion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0Give me your thoughts on Ben and Vivien\u2019s stories.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Raylene: I think they will end up working things out it seems like they already have since Vivien said to go to your son which I\u2019m not sure she has in the past. \u00a0<\/span><b>(I think that was the first time in years, if ever.)<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cece: \u00a0Their story seemed to be the least shown. However, I think they will end up together, happy in the end. \u00a0<\/span><b>(Yeah, it was tough to come off the Lange high and go to this story, but it was equally good, just different.)<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Eric: \u00a0Who are Ben and Vivian again? <\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"American Horror Story S01E01 Ben And Vivien Fight\" width=\"580\" height=\"326\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/5kopkAKrrtQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Melanie: \u00a0Maybe Ben will stop masturbating while crying and staring out the window and now stare at Vivian and masturbate while crying. \u00a0<\/span><b>(Wait, why change what works?)<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tom: \u00a0It would be nice if Ben could whack it without the waterworks. \u00a0I think they&#8217;ll work it out. <\/span><b>(Tom, I\u2019m just saying, you\u2019ve never truly experienced the pleasure of whacking it with tears in your eyes staring out the window into nothingness. \u00a0It will blow your\u2026..mind.)<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kayleigh: \u00a0I&#8217;m glad all the questions got cleared up about Langdon. And it seems like Vivian and Ben will have a happy ending. \u00a0<\/span><b>(I think there aren\u2019t many choices. \u00a0If you have eternity to spend there, you may as well try to make the best of it.)<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kelly: \u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Called it with him torching Viv. Thankfully, Tate saved her. We can&#8217;t have Murder House without Connie Britton! And thinking about Ben&#8230; Man, the people in that house just wanted to be parents &#8211; I&#8217;m talking all through the years. Now that it&#8217;s been years since that season premiered, you just look back at it and feel sorry for those people. \u00a0<\/span><b>(Yeah, the aftermath of everything, that season can be analyzed on so many levels. \u00a0It\u2019s crazy how in depth that season truly went, which is why it still remains one of the most beloved seasons.)<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kent: \u00a0Ben\u2019s was the better story, Vivien\u2019s provided us something to be happy about, I think. \u00a0I loved how Ben tried to connect with Michael. It made a lot of sense to go that route.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0Tate and Violet were able to finally make peace. \u00a0Moira was laid to rest to be with her mom. Which of these things did you prefer?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Raylene: I do like Moira is finally at peace and with her mom now<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cece: \u00a0Moira\u2019s story brought tears to my eyes. I fucking love Frances Conroy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Eric: \u00a0Moira because she apologized to her mother and got to be with her. <\/span><b>(I admit this is a lazy response, but I love this song.)<\/b><\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Nt-XsQlO9-Y<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Melanie: \u00a0Moira\u2019s storyline. I cried like a baby. I haven\u2019t cried like that over this show since Twisty. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tom: \u00a0Violet and Tate\u2019s story is fine, young love, blah blah blah. \u00a0I prefer Moira\u2019s story. Being freed from the house, meeting her mother again, getting forgiveness and peace of mind that she ended her mother\u2019s suffering. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kayleigh: \u00a0I kind of liked how they ended it in season one, with Violet never talking to Tate again. So I prefer Moira&#8217;s burial at the cemetery with her mom.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kelly: \u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Moira by far was the best. Hell, my husband even teared up a little. He said it was the most beautiful scene of any of the seasons. I agree, it was a perfect moment. I am glad Tate and Violet have finally reconciled, but it was a quick little tie-up of that loose end that we didn&#8217;t get to appreciate as much as we would have at the end of the original season. Kind of bad timing, I think it needed a little more attention. <\/span><b>(Yeah, the timing, it was almost unfair to be like the 5th biggest plot point of the episode when that could have been THE plot point of other episodes.)<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kent: \u00a0I feel bad that I lumped Tate and Violet into this question, in hindsight. \u00a0I know, some weeks I should just suck it up and ask more questions. Moira is my pick, just like everybody else. \u00a0There are not many characters that I feel have led as tortured of an existence on television than she did. Also, Frances Conroy may be one of my 10 favorite actresses. \u00a0At least 15. Really, the Tate and Violet thing is a huge story, and yet, due to the number of other things in this episode, it just couldn\u2019t compare, which is sad. It probably deserved better. \u00a0Also, really glad to see that people were crying. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0We got a chance to see the story of the 3 Satanic worshippers including Mead as well as Naomi Grossman, who was Pepper in Asylum, ya know, the one with the weird hair. \u00a0Mena Suvari of American Beauty fame (the blonde) was also in this episode as the Dahlia. Give me your thoughts on this part of the story. Was it good, fun, silly, etc?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Raylene: I thought it was a tad stupid I have no idea why I felt that at the time maybe I thought it was going to be expected to have Satan and his spawn in a season called Apocalypse. <\/span><b>(Well, lessons have been learned, have they not?)<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cece: \u00a0This was absolutely awesome! I loved when Michael stepped back and Satan appeared over his shoulder. I loved getting to see Mena again! \u00a0<\/span><b>(The imagery of that was something really cool, for fans of that stuff.)<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Eric: \u00a0Fun I guess <\/span><b>(It was a toss-up between this and Sympathy For the Devil, but I couldn\u2019t decide which version of the song I wanted to use between Rolling Stones, Guns N Roses, or Motorhead, so I just went with my original song in my head. \u00a0I just wanted to explain the process.)<\/b><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Squirrel Nut Zippers - Hell\" width=\"580\" height=\"326\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/iLYB9pvww2M?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Melanie: \u00a0Loved seeing Naomi Grossman as another character besides Pepper. I thought Mena Suvari was awesome. Also, the nod to the #metoo movement was brilliant. <\/span><b>(Yeah, now that you and I have had a chance to chat, I recall the scene.\u00a0 &#8220;The things you have to do to be a star.&#8221; was a nice subtle reference.\u00a0 So subtle that my dumbass forgot about it. I will say that I was also elated about Naomi\u2019s appearance.)<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tom: \u00a0I was surprised at how brutal the human sacrifice was. \u00a0I&#8217;m not sure why it stuck with me, maybe the way he cradled her heart as she expired. \u00a0<\/span><b>(It was pretty brutal, ya know, I rather enjoyed. \u00a0It wasn\u2019t pretentious though.)<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kayleigh: \u00a0I enjoyed it. I wanted to start chanting khali-ma KHALI-MA! <\/span><b>(Yeah, like this wasn\u2019t going to happen.)<\/b><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (5\/10) Movie CLIP - Ritual Heart Removal (1984) HD\" width=\"580\" height=\"435\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/KjdjDz8jhN4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kelly: \u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A little disturbing. I&#8217;m not religious, but I have an issue with satanic things so I did have to look away for a little bit. \u00a0<\/span><b>(I can see that, because I didn\u2019t turn away.)<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kent: \u00a0I didn\u2019t know that was Pepper until I looked her up. \u00a0I also originally messed up the question about Mena. I\u2019ll just say it, I\u2019m an idiot. \u00a0This all was great and tied so much together for us fans. The appearance of Satan was really fun.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0We see Dinah in next week\u2019s preview. \u00a0Will we get the return of Marie Laveau (Angela Bassett\u2019s character from Coven)?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Raylene: I thought she was in the preview for next week Marie Laveau I\u2019m probably confusing the characters. I loved that character so much. <\/span><b>(If we get around to doing a podcast about this season, I want to pose this question. \u00a0Was Coven really great, or was it just that the characters were so damn good compared to the plot?)<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tom: \u00a0Who knows, actors and actresses get 3, 4, maybe 5 different characters this season. \u00a0I saw Papa Legba in the preview so Laveau would make sense. <\/span><b>(Do they get paid by the character? \u00a0If so, Evan made out really well last year.)<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kayleigh: \u00a0\u00a0Badass. I really enjoy that character. Plus my man Papa Legba. I love that he has a coke nail. \u00a0<\/span><b>(Hopefully, Coke runs commercials this week. \u00a0Also, you and Tom said Papa, and well that can only mean one thing.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Notorious B.I.G. - Big Poppa (Official Music Video) [HD]\" width=\"580\" height=\"326\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/phaJXp_zMYM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kelly: \u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That was my prediction last week, Kent, but you neglected to add that into my posting. *Stands with arms crossed and tight lips.* But we&#8217;ve already addressed that so we&#8217;re good.<\/span><b> (Yeah, let\u2019s pretend that I have a really good memory during October and may not make a few oversights.\u00a0 When it happens in November, I fully expect to be made fun of.)<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kent: \u00a0Here\u2019s the thing, as of this moment, I give zero fucks about Dinah Stevens. \u00a0By the end of this week\u2019s episode, that may change, or I may dislike her more. \u00a0I can only hope for a cameo by Bassett. I\u2019m open to many cameos, but aside from Axe Man, she\u2019s probably the one I want to see most given the story currently. \u00a0Did they run Axe commercials during season 3?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Final Thoughts &#8211; The next episode is called Traitor. \u00a0Who do you think will be the traitor? <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Raylene: Well damn I don\u2019t know I was hoping Constance wasn\u2019t only a cameo appearance. \u00a0<\/span><b>(I do believe it\u2019s a one off, but as pointed out on this blog, I get a lot of things wrong.)<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cece: \u00a0Hmm. I\u2019m totally jelly.)<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tom: \u00a0I&#8217;m guessing the traitor will be someone who betrays Cordelia. \u00a0Madison would be a likely candidate. <\/span><b>(If Melanie isn\u2019t right, I think you are close in that a witch will be a traitor, but Madison was there to help resurrect Dinah, Coco, and Mallory. \u00a0What about a witch who didn\u2019t make it to the dance? Also, isn\u2019t Madison almost too obvious?)<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kayleigh: \u00a0That&#8217;s a good question. Queenie was a traitor in the past. And they all can be little bitches who play dirty. I just hope it&#8217;s not Misty. \u00a0<\/span><b>(As I said in my response, this was my initial thought. \u00a0I think it\u2019s one of the witches that wasn\u2019t there for the resurrection, so not Cordelia, Madison, or Myrtle. \u00a0We have wondered where Zoe, Queenie, and Misty have been. Out of those 3, Queenie struck me as the most likely candidate. \u00a0I don\u2019t foresee Zoe doing it, she kinda seems harmless. Misty would be the biggest shocker, but could be compelling.)<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kelly: \u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Someone from the Coven, perhaps? I&#8217;m not confident enough to make a prediction yet. \u00a0<\/span><b>(What, you don\u2019t enjoy making bold proclamations and find out that you were wrong the following week? \u00a0That\u2019s pretty much my gimmick.)<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kent: \u00a0Well, I really wanted to go with Queenie. \u00a0Then Kayleigh had to go and RUIN it by taking that prediction. \u00a0So screw it, I\u2019ll predict Angela Bassett. Why the hell not? Please don\u2019t be Dinah because I don\u2019t want her character to be terribly useful. \u00a0Queenie is the better choice. I will toss out 2 dark horse picks. I will say that Fiona has to be in play, hopefully along with Axe Man.
