This week,\u00a0 we finally get the backstory on John and Laura.\u00a0 It’s a masterfully done piece of television.\u00a0 It’s a simple, yet sad tale.\u00a0 Of course we discuss what we saw and sometimes wildly speculate on stuff.\u00a0 \u00a0My name is Kent, and for Fear The Walking Dead, I only ask 5 questions and some final thoughts to make this blog a little more compact your reading pleasure.\u00a0 Any comments in\u00a0BOLD<\/strong> are written by me.\u00a0 I hope you enjoy and if you or someone you know may want to do this blog, contact me, leave a comment, whatever.\u00a0 The contact info is at the bottom of this blog.<\/p>\n

  1. \u00a0Did John Dorie cement his place as your favorite Fear The Walking Dead character in this episode?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \"\"<\/p>\n

    Bob: \u00a0No. This episode just affirmed why he was my favorite.\u00a0\u00a0(I expected nothing less from you and you delivered.)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    Chris: \u00a0Agree with Bob. \u00a0He was already clearly my favorite. \u00a0It was between him and Nick, and\u2026. I don’t think he\u2019ll be back\u2026.\u00a0\u00a0(Well, we still have a few episodes with flashbacks and Madison can always bring dead people back to celebrate the holidays, so there is still hope.)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    Kent: \u00a0I am torn, and I am going to take the cowardly way out. \u00a0I love Morgan, and I always have. He has longevity and familiarity. \u00a0John has grown on me and is such a welcome addition, but just because he\u2019s shiny red ball, he\u2019s not my favorite\u2026..quite yet.<\/span><\/p>\n

    1. \u00a0Laura spoke of losing her child one night in one line. \u00a0What do you make of that particular line?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      \"\"<\/p>\n

      Bob: \u00a0I just feel like she is a master manipulator, like maybe she is bipolar. \u00a0Or she is just coping with the grief.\u00a0\u00a0(I love any accusations of manipulation, so I’m sold on that.)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

      Chris: \u00a0It was kind of strange. \u00a0I\u2019m not sold on everything she says being true.\u00a0\u00a0(Does she know if what she says is true or not?\u00a0 I’m wondering if her reality is distorted, like Morgan seeing dead people.)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

      Kent: \u00a0I find it weird how she arrived at John\u2019s. \u00a0I took it that she had to escape and maybe had a Carol and Sophia type incident and has no idea where her child is.<\/span><\/p>\n

       <\/p>\n

      1. \u00a0Why do you think Laura is so focused on the need to run? \u00a0She seemed to feel a sense of safety with John, but had a pre-existing sense of urgency to her and obviously left.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        \"\"<\/p>\n

        Bob: \u00a0Some people are movers. Some are shakers. \u00a0And there is Dorie. Laura is a mover but not a shaker. \u00a0She is always thinking of leaving.\u00a0\u00a0(She’s kind of a white girl version of early seasons Glenn on TWD.\u00a0 That dude could move!)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

        Chris: \u00a0I think she feels it’s the only way to survive. \u00a0Things that seem too good to be true usually are.\u00a0\u00a0(Yeah, it seems like valuable lessons have been learned.)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

        Kent: \u00a0It seems like a pattern or instinct that she has learned that has led to her survival. \u00a0This may be the closest we get to a female Eugene. Someone who does whatever to survive in a smart manner.<\/span><\/p>\n

         <\/p>\n

        1. \u00a0If John does find Laura alive, hypothetically, would he take her back? \u00a0Should he take her back? Keep in mind with so much mystery, we still don\u2019t know what Alicia, Strand, and Luciana saw, so they may have seen Naomi die, or they may have simply seen a big explosion and made assumptions while escaping.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          \"\"<\/p>\n

          Bob: \u00a0I think he would take her back. \u00a0I am excited to know what happens next in this part of the story.<\/span><\/p>\n

          Chris: \u00a0He would definitely take her back. \u00a0I really hope she’s not dead. I want to see what happens.<\/span><\/p>\n

          Kent: \u00a0Yeah, it\u2019s unanimous, he would take her back. \u00a0He\u2019s that kind of guy. He\u2019s loveable and yet you feel like he is destined to make another mistake by season\u2019s end. \u00a0You know, the whole \u201cnice guys finish last\u201d cliche.<\/span><\/p>\n

          1. \u00a0Where do you think Morgan and John are heading to next?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            \"\"<\/p>\n

            Bob: \u00a0They are going to regroup.<\/span><\/p>\n

            Chris: \u00a0Probably to try and catch up with the rest of the group.<\/span><\/p>\n

            Kent:\u00a0 I am hoping the stadium.\u00a0 I don’t know if that necessarily means catching up with the group or not, but I want to see what that place looks like now.\u00a0 Is it full of Vultures?\u00a0 Is it abandoned?\u00a0 Is it burned to the ground?\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

             <\/p>\n

            Final Thoughts – Was this the best episode of Fear the Walking Dead that you have ever seen? \u00a0If not, can you recall one that you liked more?<\/span><\/p>\n\n

            Bob: \u00a0I really liked watching Troy get \u201cTyreese\u201dEd. As far as whole episodes go, yes.\u00a0\u00a0(You make me remember one of my top 5 favorite scenes in TWD.\u00a0 It was when there were 4 of them in a car, like Daryl, Michonne, Bob, and Tyreese.\u00a0 I probably am wrong on that group, but they get surrounded in the car and Tyreese comes out and destroys like 40 walkers with his Hammer Time routine.\u00a0 I may have to find that episode now.)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

            Chris: \u00a0This was the best I’ve seen. \u00a0Fear just keeps getting better.\u00a0\u00a0(It’s incredible what can occur with the right people at the helm.)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

            Kent: \u00a0Yeah, this set the new standard for this show. \u00a0Prior to this, I would say that maybe the opener to season 3 because it had an intensity to it, but the Travis death did hurt it significantly.\u00a0 I’d go so far as to say this ranks among the best of Walking Dead, period.<\/span><\/p>\n
