Melanie and Kent are back to give their thoughts on this week’s 10th episode of AHS Cult.\u00a0 We couldn’t be happier that Tuesday will be the season finale.\u00a0 To celebrate, Melanie and Kent will be doing a podcast on Thursday.<\/p>\n

  1. \u00a0What did you think of the opening segment? \u00a0That would be Kai with WInter and her 2 friends, political talk, the slap?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Melanie: \u00a0The slap was such an extreme response, but it started the acceptance of violence for Kai. <\/span><\/p>\n

    Kent: \u00a0From a guy\u2019s perspective, this is the sort of thing that causes guys to be mean or disrespectful to women. \u00a0It\u2019s not the norm, but when stuff like this happens, it really leaves a sour taste in a guy\u2019s mouth. \u00a0Granted, he shouldn\u2019t have slapped her, but she shouldn\u2019t have antagonized and been so rude and disrespectful in the first place. \u00a0The whole cause and effect. \u00a0I think a bit of truth has been lost in today\u2019s society that most violence is born out or rudeness, mean, disrespectful act. \u00a0The violent one is always the guilty one, but it typically only grows to that point because somebody else started the provocation, but then they become a victim, and that\u2019s bullshit.<\/span><\/p>\n

    1. \u00a0Did Bebe Babbitt (Frances Conroy) do more harm than good in her big feminist speech in the beginning? \u00a0Is she partly responsible for Kai\u2019s demeanor and actions towards women? \u00a0Also, how great was that final showdown between Kai\/Charles and Bebe?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Melanie: \u00a0Ugh, her character was the worst. She was a terrible anger management counselor. I actually laughed at the ending of the confrontation. I did appreciate Frances Conroy. <\/span><\/p>\n

      Kent: \u00a0Bebe was such a dumbass in thinking that Kai was the correct vessel to spread her hateful rhetoric. \u00a0She\u2019s a big reason along with his parents and even the females that Winter associated with. \u00a0There\u2019s a lot of guys out there with similar thoughts as Kai in regards to women, whether it\u2019s spoken out loud or not, and probably there\u2019s a lot of women that would love to see Bebe\u2019s vision become a reality. \u00a0As far as the last showdown, I thought it was the highlight of the episode. \u00a0It was really fun and I always love Frances Conroy\u2019s performances. \u00a0She is such a marvelous talent.<\/span><\/p>\n

      1. \u00a0Did you enjoy Kai\u2019s retelling of Charles Manson and the family? \u00a0Do you enjoy how they are re-using actors from the show in these backstories?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Melanie: \u00a0I did. Fast paced, lots of information. I like seeing the actors as other characters. <\/span><\/p>\n

        Kent: \u00a0This actually has been the saving grace of this season for me. \u00a0I adore the retellings with the same actors. \u00a0It\u2019s charming, it\u2019s witty, it\u2019s something very Ryan Murphy. \u00a0For all the criticism that I launch his way, when he does nail something, it\u2019s really fucking good. \u00a0This stuff is the funny things that have kept me going through this nonsense.<\/span><\/p>\n

        1. \u00a0Has Kai lost his damn mind?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          Melanie: \u00a0He lost his mind when he put his dead parents in a room and locked the door. <\/span><\/p>\n

          Kent: \u00a0I don\u2019t think that he has lost his mind. \u00a0His actions are those of somebody being manipulated. \u00a0Simple as that. \u00a0This isn\u2019t AHS Cult, it\u2019s AHS Manipulation, but that doesn\u2019t have as good of a sound.<\/span><\/p>\n

          1. \u00a0We saw Susan paint \u201cPig\u201d on the door which is a call back to previous seasons. \u00a0We also had Twisty. \u00a0Have there been any other obvious callbacks to other seasons?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            Melanie: \u00a0The killing? I kid I kid. <\/span><\/p>\n

            Kent: \u00a0I haven\u2019t gone online to check for other references to the past, but man, I feel at a total loss here. \u00a0I am sure I missed some, but I love the tiny callbacks to season\u2019s past.<\/span><\/p>\n

            1. \u00a0Were you sad to see Gary get got?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              Melanie: \u00a0No, he was awful. <\/span><\/p>\n

              Kent: \u00a0Yes I certainly was. \u00a0As silly of a role as Gay had, I like Chaz as an actor and really loved his role this year. \u00a0His triumphant sawing off of his arm is definitely a cheesy highlight of the season.<\/span><\/p>\n

              1. \u00a0Do you consider Winter a victim?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                Melanie: \u00a0No. She was an active participant. <\/span><\/p>\n

                Kent: \u00a0No, I simply consider her weak minded and she got in too deep. \u00a0She got what she realistically deserved. \u00a0Not a victim in my mind. \u00a0Had she simply had some faith in herself, she would have been fine early on.<\/span><\/p>\n

                1. \u00a0Why is Beverley so loyal to the cause\u2026.or is she?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                  Melanie: \u00a0She was, but when she saw it was anti women it was fuck no. <\/span><\/p>\n

                  Kent: \u00a0I feel like I am wrong on Beverley every time I open my stupid mouth. \u00a0In my mind, I think that it could all just be a ploy, but then it will end up being that she is all in on this. \u00a0If I go the opposite way, it will be a ploy. \u00a0I am saying that she is in on the downfall of Kai along with Ally. <\/span><\/p>\n

                  1. \u00a0Is there anything that this show can do, in your estimation, that would prevent this season from being the worst one yet for AHS?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                    Melanie: \u00a0They could save it by showing the ending from Murder House. <\/span>(Kent: Seriously, that would be amazing. \u00a0I would applaud this!)<\/b><\/p>\n

                    Kent: \u00a0Aliens? \u00a0I\u2019m kidding\u2026.kinda. \u00a0\u00a0No, there\u2019s nothing that\u2019s going to prevent this from being the worst yet. \u00a0What\u2019s done is done. \u00a0Give me 92 hot nude females in the season finale and I will rethink that. \u00a0The ball is in your court Murphy.<\/span><\/p>\n

                      Melanie: \u00a0They drink the koolaide. The end!!!! <\/span><\/p>\n

                      Kent: \u00a0Beverley kills Ally in the end and comes off like the Kayser Soze of this whole thing.<\/span><\/p>\n

                      1. \u00a0What\u2019s your favorite nickname of Kai\u2019s followers? \u00a0There\u2019s Speed Wagon, Sandstorm, Tripod, Pus Bucket, Heart Attack, Gutterball<\/span>
                        \n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                        Melanie:\u00a0 Wine Guzzler is my fave, oh wait\u2026 <\/span>(Kent: Is he the really jacked guy in the tank top? \u00a0He looks like a Wine Guzzler.)<\/b><\/p>\n

                        Kent: \u00a0Gutterball is pretty great to me. \u00a0I know Speed Wagon is the fan favorite, and that\u2019s why he gets his name said more frequently. \u00a0I I get it.<\/span><\/p>\n

                        Were you Kentertained by this episode?<\/span><\/p>\n

                        Melanie: \u00a0Not really…Manson retelling was pretty good. <\/span><\/p>\n

                        Kent: \u00a0Sure, I liked the retelling of Manson, all of Bebe\u2019s scenes, Gary\u2019s death, Winter\u2019s death, and the shaving scene. \u00a0More to like than dislike this episode.<\/span><\/p>\n
